A Wonderful Series of Free Educational Apps by StarFall

Learning is for everyone and for kids learning it's even more special with StarFall. With a goal of providing free and low-cost learning experiences through exploration the StarFall foundation has provided a series of educational apps covering a range of learning activities.

It begins with the Alphabets.
The first free available app is Starfall ABCs where kids can explore the entire alphabet. In an approach similar to Sesame Street episodes kids have can interact with guided learning of Letters, Sounds of Words and Sing-a-long.

With complete control of pace parents and children can explore together and learn with activities like spelling, sorting letter that are not the same and even alphabet recognition games like the maze above.



StarFall ABCs offer hours of fun learning experience and it's great to see such an app available. While it's not as polished and refined as most app available. It still provides well thought out educational value compared to paid apps.

Above is a preview of the activities available and while running it on phones is acceptable a tablet would be a perfect way to experience the app.

Hold on thats not all! There's Numbers Too.
To extend you child's learning time StarFall have also released an extensive number app as well.
With StarFall Numbers kids can explore numbers 1 to 20. There are also activities that introduce kids to bigger numbers like 25, 50 and 100.

Kids can count fingers, pumpkins and frogs, play matching games that reinforce basic vocabulary for numbers while learning to recognise number symbols and values through connection.
Perfect for early learnings.

It doesn't stop with ABCs and 123s Learning to read at an early stage is essential and StarFall have covered that as well. With StarFall Learn to Read kids explore more advance learning activities like spelling and phonics while enjoying the same approach with sing-a-longs and animated stories.
With a goal of encouraging reading kids can interact and control stories with fun characters and letters that come to life. StarFall Learn to Read by Starfall Education is available on both iOS and Android devices

Overall it's great to see such apps freely available for families and while running all these apps on mobile devices work fine as in our demos we highly recommend Tablets for such extensive learning. We hope to cover more StarFall apps on tablets soon.
